Release party for Bill Fuller’s 40th Anniversary wines

We are attending a release party at WVV – Tualatin Estates  winery for some small production wines created and nurtured by the former owner Bill Fuller.

First was the 2013 Vintage 40 Chardonnay.   Nice bright acidity and a luscious structure make for a Chard with character. $40

Second was the 2013 Vintage 40 Pinot Noir.  Very light in color, but the bouquet was strong with earthy bramble fruit aromas.   On the palate it was a delicious blend of fruity tones as well as an acidity that caused me to salivate, wanting more.  Made from 100% Pommard clones. $40

Third was the 2012 Fuller Pinot Noir, a blend of Pommard, 667 and 777.  A bit darker in color . .  Bouquet is very similar to the previous, slightly lower acid, a deeper more robust structure and a smooth silky finish.  It was paired with a couple BBQ meatballs, perfect flavor pairing. $100

Last and certainly not least is the 2014 Tualatin Estates Frizzante-semi sparkling Muscat.  My wife’s absolute Fave.  It is exquisitely refreshing and light without being overly sweet or cloying.   It is the near perfect hot weather wine. $15
