[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”3151″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]During this past summer we ventured down to Northern California to Sonoma County to see the area and to sample as much of the delicious wines as we could.  But as you can guess, it is nearly impossible to put much of a dent in that dream in only a week.  So after returning home I decided to seek out some of the “ones that got away” and review those as I find them.  This is the first of what I hope is many new wonderful discoveries.

Josh Cellars is one of the many labels under the Deutsch Family Wines masthead.  It is one of their very approachable blends that defines what great winemaking is about . . .pleasure at an affordable price.

Immediately upon getting my nose into the glass of this beauty I smelled Merlot, with out mistake.  That prominent blue fruit aromas as well as a hint of spice was very welcome, most notably the fresh plum and blackberry.  This wine is dense and juicy, with plums and dark cherries, while the mouthfeel is silky as it approaches the mid palate.  Finely integrated tannins and  the flavors of those blueberries, and cherries as well as a bit of baking spice and chocolate finish it off.  It does finish a bit dry, but as I’ve been told before, “It’s just begging for some food to pair”.  I would agree that this would be great with some grilled steak or even chicken with some spice on it.  Great every day drinker.  This lovely wine is made up of 44% Merlot, 44% Zinfandel, 12% Petite Sirah.  Enjoy![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
