River’s Edge Winery

2017 Sauvignon Blanc – Citrus aromas and a nice carryover onto the palate.  Tart and crisp on the finish.

2015 Pinot Noir – Elkton Vineyard –  Bright red fruit on the nose with a tight acidity . .not a great fruit profile.

2016 Yamhill Carlton Pinot Noir – Very typical aromas . . .plum, cherry, cola . . . Nice full fruit flavors with a superb structure.  Very nice.

J Scott Cellars

A tried and true phenomenal winemaker.  Jonathan Scott Oberlander is one of the finest winemakers I have ever encountered.  The diversity of his labels ( I believe the count is 24) is enough to boggle the mind.

2013 Avante’ Red Blend –  27% Malbec, 44% Touriga Nacional/Tinto Cao, 15% Petite Verdot, 11% Syrah, 3% Tempranillo – Light aromas . ..A smoky, almost beef jerky flavor.  Very hardy.

2017 Sauvignon Blanc – I personally rate all other Sauv Blancs on his – Light citrus and pineapple aromas . . . bright acidity with superb flavor carryover from aromas and a crisp finish.

2017 Albarino –  Bright citrus aromas, especially lemon . . . I also got tangerine on the mid palate . . . nicely crisp and refreshing.

2017 Viognier –  Honeysuckle and peach . . . Superb on all fronts . . .Tart finish.

2017 Grenache Blanc – Nose is fruity and floral . . . with a tart, crisp mid palate

2016 Petite Sirah – Deep dark fruit aromas . . .moderate acid and tannin structure . . .silky smooth and loads of dark fruit like dark cherry and blackberry.

2011 Cabernet Sauvignon – Leonetti Vineyards – Wonderful . . .Classic Cab aromas . . . Super silky and soft tannins . . . long lingering finish.  Excellent!!

A great event that I hope to continue to attend for years to come.
